Shawnee Township crash sends five to hospital

SHAWNEE TOWNSHIP — A two-car collision at approximately 4:20 p.m. Monday on West Breese Road sent five people to an area hospital, including two with injuries described by the investigating agency as serious.

According to a report released by the Fort Shawnee Police Department, a 2014 Chevrolet driven by Justic Brown, 39, of Ohio City, was westbound on West Breese Road approaching a private drive when an auto driven by Vicki York, 66, of Jackson Center, pulled from the private drive and into his path.

Upon impact, York’s vehicle spun off the north side of the roadway and struck a sign, post and tree before coming to rest.

York and four passengers were transported to Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.

Landon Rebbennack, 13, and Leif Rebbennack, 15, both of Greenwood, Indiana, suffered injuries described as serious.

Payton Murphy, 15, and Jace Murphy, 13, both of Mechanicsburg, and York suffered what were described as minor injuries.

All occupants of the Brown vehicle were uninjured.
