Bluffton wreck stops traffic

BLUFFTON — A serious accident involving three vehicles stopped traffic Thursday at the intersection of Columbus Grove Road and State Route 696 west of Bluffton.

At approximately 2:40 p.m., Bluffton police, rescue and fire were called to the scene.

EMS personnel had to remove the male driver from a vehicle which had a power pole on top of it. A dump truck hauling a front end loader, which fell off onto the road, was leaking gasoline on the the roadbed. A third vehicle appeared to have been pulling a trailer, which became disconnected and landed on the west side of Route 696.

In addition to Bluffton, agencies at the scene included three state patrol cars, plus units from Pandora-Riley Township, Putnam County EMS and Columbus Grove.
