Lima Symphony Orchestra Patriotic Pops returning to ONU


Lima Symphony Orchestra Patriotic Pops Concert: 7 p.m., Sculpture mall, Ohio Northern University. Free. Bring lawn chair.

ADA — Lima Symphony Orchestra will present its fifth annual Patriotic Pops Concert at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 6, at Ohio Northern University on the sculpture mall, east of McIntosh Center.

The concert is free and open to the public, and will feature patriotic music, selections from musicals and other film productions, popular tunes and a tribute to the armed forces.

Attendees are encouraged to arrive early and bring lawn chairs, blankets and favorite picnic foods.

In the event of inclement weather, the event will be moved to ONU King-Horn Field House.

Travis Jürgens, ONU assistant professor of music and Ohio Northern Symphony music director, will serve as guest artistic director and conductor for the Lima Symphony Orchestra. Special guest performers include Kirsten Osbun-Manley, ONU resident in music and musical theatre coordinator, and Noteworthy Community Choir, under the direction of Vicki Mills, ONU adjunct music instructor.
