Name of Friday shooting victim released

LIMA — The Allen County Sheriff’s Office has identified Christian M. Laws, 19, of Lima, as the man who died in Friday’s Lark Avenue shooting.

Laws was found early Friday evening when officers from the sheriff’s office were called to the 2400 block of Lark Avenue around 6:30 p.m., in response to shots fired in the area. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Few other details about the shooting have been released.

On Monday, the Allen County Sheriff’s Office told reporters that Laws was transported to the Lucas County Coroner’s office for an autopsy, which concluded that Laws died from a single gunshot wound.

No suspects have been arrested, but detectives have talked with several persons of interest.

The sheriff’s office declined to offer more information as the investigation is ongoing.
