Traffic issues cause West Ohio Food Bank to pause food distributions

LIMA — A weekly food distribution at the West Ohio Food Bank has been marred by problems.

Tommie Harner, chief operations officer with the food bank, shared in a Facebook post, “Due to the continued issues and individuals parking in our neighbor’s parking lots when we have repeatedly asked for this not to happen, the produce distribution scheduled for next Thursday has been canceled.”

Harner previously shared issues with people picking up food waiting in neighboring business’s traffic lots.

”Unfortunately we cannot risk our relationship with our business neighbors and it is not fair that their new businesses are impacted by the traffic issues,” she wrote. “If we choose to continue normal distributions in the future, each one will be a pre-registration. We have not confirmed any dates going forward at this time.”
