KALIDA — The second annual Marcus Landin Memorial Benefit will have events from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, June 22, at Four Seasons Park, Kalida.
The benefit raises funds for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy research, the heart condition that took Landin’s life on Dec. 25, 2017.
The event will include a 5K, corn hole tournament, chicken barbecue, raffles and live music.
Schedule of events:
5K run/walk: 9 a.m. shotgun start, 8 a.m. registration
Chicken barbecue: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Live music from Polly Mae: 7 to 9 p.m.
Landin’s family remembers him as a special one-of-a-kind person who could make anyone laugh, smile, and was quite the jokester. He was active in 4H and was very successful at showing his goats in the Putnam County Fair. Marcus was loved dearly by his family and friends and will always be remembered for the way he loved and cared for them and his Chocolate Labrador, Lighting.
Marcus would have been 21 this month, so the family decided to add a birthday celebration to the funfilled day with live music by Polly Mae from 7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. at the park. Event goers are asked to bring their own lawn chairs. Snacks and water will be available for purchase.
