Two plead guilty to sex-related charges in Van Wert courtroom

VAN WERT — Two Van Wert County men will be sentenced next month on sex charges after pleading guilty in separate cases in Van Wert County Common Pleas Court.

James Yates, 33, of Van Wert, entered a plea of guilty on Wednesday to charges of sexual battery, a second-degree felony; unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, a felony of the third degree; and three counts of gross sexual imposition, third-degree felonies. He will be sentenced July 24.

On Tuesday, Kyle Anderson, 19, of Willshire, pleaded guilty to unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, a fourth-degree felony; two counts of the illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented performance, a felony of the fifth degree; importuning, a fifth-degree felony; and disseminating matter harmful to juveniles, a first-degree misdemeanor. Anderson will be sentenced July 10.
