OTTAWA — The Putnam County Children’s Theatre will present “Don’t Say No to the U.S.O,” a patriotic mini-musical salute, at 7 p.m. Friday, June 14 and 1 p.m. Saturday, June 15 at Ottawa-Glandorf High School auditorium, 630 Glendale Ave., Ottawa.

Performances are coordinated with the 2019 centennial celebration of the American Legion and Kerner-Slusser Post No. 63. Donations will be accepted at the door.

The action takes place in a U.S.O. club located in Brooklyn, New York in 1942, where private Joe Kilroy and the hostesses and soldiers of W.W. II gather in their “home away from home.” The 54 member cast, including a band of Rosie-the-riveters, entertains with rousing song and dance music of the period. The musical is performed in one act with no intermission and concludes with a special tribute to the Armed Forces of the United States, honoring veterans and active duty personnel.
