LIMA — A Lima woman who police say intentionally ran down a pedestrian early Sunday morning in the 1900 block of Brookwood Drive was jailed on a preliminary charge of felonious assault.
According to a report from the Lima Police Department, Bethany Gerding, 39, was arrested following an incident at approximately 1 a.m. Sunday which resulted in Gerding striking Bryan Chambers, 21, with her motor vehicle. Police at the scene “quickly determined this was not an accident, but an intentional act,” the report stated.
Chambers was transported to Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center by paramedics with unspecified injuries.
Gerding is currently in the Allen County jail pending her initial court appearance. Her arraignment was Monday afternoon in Lima Municipal Court.
