SHAWNEE TOWNSHIP — Authorities on Monday morning were continuing their search for a missing Shawnee Township woman last seen late Sunday afternoon.

Janet Taflinger, 77, may suffer from onset dementia, according to a statement from the Shawnee Township Police Department. The woman, described as a white female, 5-foot-3 and 110 pounds, reportedly had been upset with family issues prior to her disappearance.

Taflinger was last seen at her residence at 2299 W. Hume Road around 4 p.m. Sunday. She is believed to be driving a 2010 silver Mercury Milan with Ohio license plate AM 75 AW. She does not have a cell phone, authorities said.

The woman is known to visit Alger and Cridersville on occasion.

A statewide Silver Alert was issued at 10:32 p.m. Sunday by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation.

The Shawnee Township Police Department ask that anyone who sees Taflinger or her vehicle to contact their local police department or contact Shawnee Township at 419-227-1115.
