Wapak man hurt after motorcycle hits deer on I-75


BOTKINS — A 26-year-old man from Wapakoneta was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after striking a deer early Saturday morning on I-75 north near Botkins in Shelby-Auglaize County, according to a sergeant with the Wapakoneta Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

A motorcycle was traveling north on I-75 in the right lane going about 70 mph when the driver was ejected after striking a deer crossing the road around 12:56 a.m.

The driver was taken to Miami Valley Hospital with serious injuries by Anna Rescue and EMS, the sergeant said.

The man was wearing a helmet and the motorcycle now has heavy damage from the crash.
