VAN WERT — The Niswonger Performing Arts Center 2019-2020 season, announced Wednesday afternoon, is sprinkled with a little bit of new and a little bit of old.

Executive Director Tafi Stober said the center intentionally stacked the lineup with more commercial artists and rock performances to tap into a new audience.

“That audience hasn’t been served as greatly as this season does so it’ll be interesting to see what patrons we pick up,” Stober said.

But the Niswonger didn’t forget about its season ticket holders and returners.

“It’s really important to build community around our brand, and that has happened naturally because a lot of the people you’ve seen here today have been invested,” Stober explained. “They’ve invested here, in this building, and invested personal money to make that happen. It’s just not a commercial enterprise, it’s a living, breathing part of our community and we open the doors for everybody in the region. We don’t just want this to be Van Wert’s home, we want this to be northwest Ohio’s home.”
