Lima Fire Department and Bath Township Fire Department responded to a house fire at 1311 Reservoir Road at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday. An occupant of the home smelled smoke and heard a pop coming from the basement. When firefighters arrived, they found heavy smoke and flames coming from the basement. One person was taken to the hospital by ambulance for treatment of smoke inhalation while a neighbor who went in to try and rescue pets was driven to the hospital by a private vehicle to be checked out. Damage to the home and contents is listed at $20,000.

LIMA — Lima fire investigators are looking into the cause of a fire that damaged a home at 1311 Reservoir Road.

The fire broke out at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday.

An occupant of the home smelled smoke and heard a pop coming from the basement.
