OTTAWA — A fire engulfed a barn in Ottawa on Monday night, resulting in a total loss of the structure.

According to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, at 11:13 p.m. Monday the sheriff’s office received a call about a barn fire at 11836 Road J, Ottawa, owned by Robert and Abigail Maas.

Glandorf, Ottawa and Kalida fire departments responded to the scene. Putnam County EMS and Ottawa EMS also arrived on scene. Upon arrival, first responders observed the barn was fully engulfed and later deemed it a complete loss. Fire departments were able to extinguish the fire in a short time.

No sign of foul play was observed. The barn contained small yard machines and tools.
