Woman arrested for running down Lima man with vehicle



LIMA — A Lima woman was arrested shortly after midnight Wednesday for intentionally striking a Lima man with her vehicle.

Lima police were dispatched at 12:08 a.m. Wednesday to Marko’s Bar, 701 S. Main Street, in reference to a vehicle-pedestrian crash. Upon their arrival, police found Demetrius Williams, 26, of Lima, in the parking lot of the bar. The man was bleeding from injuries to his face.

Officer learned that Williams and Shalitta Cole, 42, of Lima, had been inside the bar when an argument ensued. The parties walked outside into the parking lot, and the argument continued, police said. At one point, according to the police statement, Williams attempted to walk away and to return to the bar, and Cole reportedly got into a 2017 Nissan Altima and drove the vehicle toward Williams, striking him and causing the non-life threatening injuries.

Williams was transported to Lima Memorial Health System for treatment. Cole was taken into custody and charged with suspicion of aggravated vehicular assault and operating a motor vehicle under the influence.
