Gypsy moth treatments to begin in Auglaize County

WAPAKONETA — The Ohio Department of Agriculture will begin gypsy moth aerial treatments in Auglaize County in May.

The treatments are expected to occur during early morning hours and are not harmful to humans, pets, birds or fish, according to ODA.

Fifty-one Ohio counties are under gypsy moth quarantine regulations, as the invasive insect is known to defoliate more than 300 species of trees and shrubs, according to ODA.

A map of treatment blocks is available at www.agri.ohio.gov.
