LIMA — A man identified as the lone suspect in a Saturday night fatal shooting continues to elude authorities.
Lima Police Department Detective Steve Stechschulte on Monday afternoon said police are still searching for Quintel Estelle, 38, of Lima, for his role in a shooting on Brice Avenue in Lima that claimed the life of Donald Smith.
Smith, 63, of Lima, was found around 9:30 p.m. Saturday lying in the street outside 939 Brice Ave. suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was taken to Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center and was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Smith reportedly been in an altercation with Estelle prior to the shooting. Police said Estelle retrieved a firearm from inside of his house, returned back outside and fired at least two shots at Smith, hitting him once in the chest before fleeing the scene.
