BATH TOWNSHIP — An equipment and machinery dealership has purchased about 198 acres of land along Bluelick Road near I-75 in Bath Township.

Ohio Machinery Company confirmed to The Lima News that it will be opening three dealerships in the area.

The company plans to convert three existing facilities on the property, totaling about 42,100 square feet, into Ohio Cat, Northern Ohio Peterbilt and Ohio Ag Equipment dealerships, which specialize in construction equipment, vocational trucks and agricultural machinery.

OMCO purchased the properties on April 10 and hopes to open the dealerships by the fall of 2019, with hiring expected to begin soon.

The property includes the old Magnam Truck and Equipment dealership along with more than 100 acres of unused farm land on either side of Bluelick Road, according to Allen County Auditor’s Office maps. CFO David Blocksom said there are no immediate plans to build new facilities and that the undeveloped land will remain agricultural at this time. A press release from OMCO suggests the land may be useful for equipment demonstrations and onsite events.

OMCO sought the Bluelick Road location because it is situated between the company’s Ohio Cat dealerships in Perrysburg and Troy. The Lima dealership will be OMCO’s 31st Ohio Cat location, 11th Peterbilt dealership and sixth Ohio Ag Equipment dealership.
