Argument leads to homicide in Lima

LIMA — A Lima man is dead after an argument with another man Saturday night.

According to Lima Police, the incident happened around 9:20 p.m. at 939 Brice Ave. Donald Smith, 63, of Lima, was found lying in the street, suffering from a gunshot wound.

Smith was taken to Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly after he arrived.

According to reports, Smith had been in an altercation with Quintel Estelle, 38, also of Lima, in front of 939 Brice Ave.

Police said Estelle retrieved a firearm from inside of his house, returned back outside and fired at least two shots at Smith, hitting him once in the chest.

Estelle fled shortly after firing the shot and has not been located. Investigators are currently searching for him in connection with the homicide.
