Man injured as milk truck rolls over in Putnam County

CONTINENTAL — A Defiance man driving a milk truck on Road 18 south of Road B, north of Continental, on Thursday morning was transported to the hospital after his semi rolled over.

According to a press release from the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, at 4:17 a.m. Thursday the sheriff’s office received a call for an injury accident. The driver of the semi was identified as Joshua Palczewski, 39, of Defiance, who was transported to Defiance Regional Hospital by EMS.

A semi truck hauling milk was southbound on Route 18, south of Road B. The truck got off the right side of the roadway and rolled over and stopped on its side. Milk was leaking from the tanker, and other fluids were leaking from the truck.

Miller City Fire Department, Putnam County EMS, Putnam County Hazmat and Putnam County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.

The fire department, Hazmat, EMA office and sheriffs office remained on the scene while the truck was cleared from the scene and the area was cleaned.
