Tuesday night fire causes $5,000 in damage to Lima business

LIMA — A fire of undetermined origin caused an estimated $5,000 to a Lima business Tuesday evening.

According to a spokesman for the Lima Fire Department, firefighters were dispatched at 8:40 p.m. Tuesday to 600 N. Victory Lane in response to a fire at a building owned by Lippincott Plumbing and Heating.

Upon their arrival, firefighters found smoke coming from the building. Upon entering the structure, firemen found the fire had mostly burned itself out in an interior office, the spokesman said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

American Township firefighters assisted at the scene.
