KALIDA — There will be a mother/daughter formal tea from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 5, in the Putnam County Museum annex, 201 E. Main St., Kalida.

The formal event is open to mothers, grandmothers, aunts, sisters and daughters. Each child will be given a hat to decorate, wear and keep. There will be a variety of teas, sandwiches and desserts as curator Carol Wise and her daughters present the program “Hats Off to History” looking through the styles of hats over years.

Reservations are required by Friday, May 3, by email at nkline@bright.net or call 419-235-0174. Walk-ins may be accepted if space allows.

Following the program, guests can tour the annex, which now includes historical settings such as a general store, cobbler shop, doctor’s office, log cabin, one-room schools and barn tools.
