ADA — Holocaust survivor Conrad Weiner will speak at 4 p.m. today, Thursday, April 25, in Ohio Northern University’s English Chapel.
The talk is part of Holocaust Day of Remembrance at ONU.
Weiner is a survivor of the forced labor camp Budi in Transnistria. After a brief occupation of the region by the Soviet Army in 1941, Romanian authorities in alliance with German forces started a massive campaign of annihilation and deportation of Jews to Transnistria. At 3 1/2 years old, Weiner was forced into a labor camp. After a brief occupation, he and 300 other survivors of the camp were liberated and repatriated to Romania.
