County-owned vehicle stolen from fairgrounds; public’s help sought

LIMA — Investigators with the Allen County Sheriff’s Office are seeking the public’s help in obtaining information surrounding the disappearance of a county-owned vehicle from the Allen County fairgrounds earlier this week.

According to Victoria Gonzalez, public information and administrative assistant for the sheriff’s office, a blue 2000 Chevy Tahoe was reported stolen Tuesday morning by a member of the maintenance crew at the fairgrounds. The vehicle reportedly had been removed from a parking area west of the fairgrounds maintenance garage sometime between 5:15 p.m. Monday and 8 a.m. Tuesday.

The vehicle has several distinguishing features, including four bolt holes located in the driver’s door that held a sign, a damaged/raised hood and the left rear quarter panel containing a significant amount of rust.

Anyone who has information related to vehicle’s disappearance is asked to contact the Allen County Sheriff’s Office detective bureau at 419-227-3535.
