DELPHOS — Matt East, of Delphos, brought his 2000 Chevrolet truck to the Westgate Charity Car Show last summer.

The ZR2 was an off-road package that Chevy added to their midsize pickup.

“We used to trail drive it and then crashed it, so I cut it up,” East said.

Chevy introduced its compact pickup in 1982. It was valued for its affordability and customization potential.

East took the customization part to heart, as he cut 4 feet out of the frame and cut the bed down. The paint is all him as well.

East drives it every day and trail drives it on weekends. He also enjoys taking it to car shows.

“It’s been a little bit of every where,” East said.
