LIMA — An individual whose name has not been released was taken into custody late Friday morning and is being held for federal authorities after reportedly causing a disturbance at the Lima office of the Social Security Administration.
According to a spokesman for the Lima Police Department, officers were dispatched to 401 W. North St. shortly after 10 a.m. Friday in response to a person in the Social Security office who was “making a scene” with uniformed and plain-clothes security personnel.
The individual was taken into custody and transported to the Allen County jail. Federal investigators were called in to further look into the incident. The LPD spokesman said federal agents were attempting to get a judicial “hold” on the individual that would allow that person to remain in custody.
No one was injured during the incident, the police spokesman said.
