LIMA — A 29-year-old Lima man was arraigned in Allen County Common Pleas Court on Friday on charges of involuntary manslaughter and trafficking in cocaine in a drug-related death more than two years ago.

Brandon Thompson was indicted in January by an Allen County grand jury. The involuntary manslaughter charge, a first-degree felony, alleges that Thompson “did cause the death of another” on or about Christmas Eve 2016 while committing or attempting to commit the offense of trafficking in drugs.

The trafficking charge, a fifth-degree felony, alleges that Thompson sold or offered to sell “a controlled substance or controlled substance analog and the drug involved in the violation is cocaine … in an amount less than five grams.”
