Swiss Community Historical Society hosting textile program


Swiss Community Historical Society textile program: 5 p.m., Maple Crest patio room, 700 Maple Crest Court, Bluffton. Textiles from 1833-1863.

BLUFFTON — There will be a program on textiles used by settlers during the period of 1833 to 1863 at 5 p.m. Sunday, April 28, at the Maple Crest patio room, 700 Maple Crest Court, Bluffton.

Keith Sommer and Rachel Friesen will present the program and discuss linen and wool garments from the Swiss Community Historical Society collection, as well as the flax grown, harvested and processed at the Schumacher Homestead in summer 2019 and spring 2019.

A light supper will be served. The event is free and open to the public.
