LIMA — Lima firefighters were called to battle a blaze at a South Main Street structure Monday evening just before midnight. In was the second time in less than a month that firefighters were dispatched to 1627 S. Main St. in reference to a fire. An April 3 blaze left the house vacant and boarded up, according to a department spokesman.
Upon their arrival at the latest fire, crews found flames coming from the side of the structure and quickly extinguished the fire, the cause of which remains under investigation.
Damage to the structure was estimated at $20,000. The April 3 fire caused $30,000 in damages to the home, according to earlier reports.
The property is owned by Andrew Ressir/Ressir Enterprises LLC.
