Searches at two Lima homes turn up suspected drugs, weapons, money


LIMA – Local law enforcement executed search warrants Tuesday at two locations in Lima, recovering suspected drugs, weapons and currency at the sites.

At approximately 8 p.m. Tuesday, the West Central Ohio Crime Task Force, with the assistance of the Allen County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team, served a search warrant at 818 S. Metcalf St. During the search, officers found suspected cocaine, U.S. currency and more than two pounds of marijuana intended for distribution.

Earlier that day, at approximately 9 a.m., the task force, with the assistance of the Lima Police Department SWAT team, served a search warrant at 431 E. McKibben St. During that search, suspected methamphetamine, cocaine and prescription pills were recovered, as was a semi-automatic pistol.

No arrests were made at either residence. Charges will be presented to an Allen County Grand Jury at a later date.
