March 22

Another pretrial was set for April 8 in the case involving Michael T. Huizenga, 51, 2764 Road 22B, Continental, charged with seven counts rape, and four counts of gross sexual imposition. Bond was set at $250,000 and a jury trial was scheduled for May 28.

Huizenga is accused of having sexual contact with a juvenile, less than 13 years of age, every year since 2013 in Putnam County. The year of birth of the alleged victim is 2009. He was also ordered not to consume alcohol or illegal drugs, or prescription medication unless prescribed. He must submit to drug screening every Mondays and Thursdays, have no contact with the alleged victim and appear at all scheduled hearings.

March 25

Monica Pena, 19, 147 7th St., Ottawa, was sentenced to 37 days in jail for theft of credit card. She was given credit for 37 days served, placed on five years community control, must obtain and maintain employment and complete all counseling and treatment recommended. She must also pay $42 restitution. A charge of misuse of a credit card was dismissed.

Adam E. Alafa, 46, 45 Vine St., Apt. 1, Leipsic, pleaded guilty to domestic violence. He faces up to 180 days in jail and $1,000 in fines. Bond was continued while a pre-sentence investigation is conducted with sentencing set for 11 a.m. April 29.

Shelly L. Horstman, Columbus Grove, and Alvin H. Horstman, Cloverdale, were granted a dissolution of marriage. They were married Jan. 3, 2004 in Kalida and have three children.

Karin E. Bogart, Ottawa, and Craig E. Bogart, Columbus Grove, were granted a dissolution of marriage. They were married Oct. 7, 1989 in Ayer, Mass., and have no minor children.

March 27

Wells Fargo Bank, Fort Mill, S.C., was granted a foreclosure judgment against Lawrence M. Buss Jr., Cloverdale, and Lisa M. Buss, Cloverdale, in the amount of $154,448.89, plus interest and costs.

Tanner D. Basinger, Cloverdale, and Miranda L. Basinger, Defiance, were granted a dissolution of marriage. They were married July 16, 2016 in Putnam County and have no children.

March 21

Justin D. Patrick, 35, 302 W. Barnhart St., Monroeville, Ind., pleaded guilty to driving under suspension. Sentence: 30 days jail, $150 fine.

March 22

Courtney E. Watkins, 28, 105 Franklin St., Gilboa, pleaded guilty to OVI. Sentence: Six points, 180 days jail, 174 days suspended, $750 fine, $375 suspended, one-year license suspension, with credit for three days jail upon completion of DIP and complete drug and alcohol assessment. Charges of failure to control and open container were dismissed.

Nicholas S. Wentz, 38, 3387 Road K-3, Ottawa, pleaded guilty to consumption in a motor vehicle. Sentence: $150 fine. He was also fined $75 for open container and $50 for speeding.

March 25

Kyle D. Kirkendall, 20, 9430 Dixie Highway, Bluffton, pleaded guilty to drug paraphernalia. Sentence: $150 fine and six-month license suspension. A charge of drug abuse/possession was dismissed.

Haley M. Recker, 21, 627 E. Third St., Ottawa, pleaded guilty to an amended charge of reckless operation. Sentence: $150 fine. A charge of expired registration was dismissed.

Marc D. Heitzman, 30, 9967 Road 21, Continental, pleaded guilty to an amended offense of second-offense reckless operation. Sentence: Four points, 30 days jail, 24 days suspended, $250 fine, one-year license suspension, with credit for six days jail upon completion of DIP and complete assessment at Pathways Counseling Center. A charge of stop sign violation was dismissed.

March 26

Tina M. Candia, 50, 1144 E. Second St., Apt. A, Ottawa, pleaded guilty to domestic violence. Sentence: 180 days jail, 150 days suspended, $150 fine, and complete mental health assessment. She also pleaded guilty to another charge of domestic violence. Sentence: 180 days jail, 150 days suspended, $150 fine, with sentence to be served consecutive.

Rickey V. Vanover, 32, 1292 E. Third St., Ottawa, pleaded no contest to drug abuse/possession and was found guilty. Sentence: $150 fine and six-month license suspension. He was also fined $150 for drug paraphernalia.

John S. Dally, 53, 305 S. High St., Pandora, pleaded no contest to driving under suspension child support. Sentence: $250 fine. He was also fined $150 for failure to control.

March 27

Shawn M. Dankworth, 18, 109 N. Main St., Miller City, pleaded guilty to domestic violence. Sentence: 180 days jail, 179 day suspended, $100 fine and complete assessment at Pathways Counseling Center.
