Murder trial set for Cobb

LIMA — A pretrial hearing was held late Wednesday afternoon in Allen County Common Pleas Court for Kenneth L. Cobb, 59, who is charged with murder with a firearm specification and a repeat violent offender specification, felonious assault with a firearm specification and having weapons while under disability.

Cobb was the alleged gunman in the shooting death of Branson Tucker in the early morning hours of Jan. 15 at 975 St. Johns Ave.

Another man, Jerome Fuqua, 59, is also charged in connection to the homicide.

Fuqua allegedly handed the gun to Cobb after an argument ensued at Fuqua’s home, which is also known as a family rental hall.

During Wednesday’s pretrial Cobb waived his right to a speedy trial.

A final pretrial is now scheduled for May 24 at 2 p.m.

Judge Terry Kohlriesser set Cobb’s trial for July 8, 2019, at 8:45 a.m.
