LEIPSIC — A shed is considered a total loss after a fire Monday afternoon in Putnam County’s Liberty Township.
At 5:24 p.m., a fire was reported at a shed at 9192 Road G southwest of Leipsic. The property owner, Ann Westrick, reported that she could see smoke outside the shed and flames in the structure’s interior. Westrick and her husband, Roger, own the property.
The Leipsic Fire Department responded to the blaze, with the Miller City, Ottawa and Glandorf departments providing aid. Windy conditions hindered efforts to extinguish the fire, forcing crews to work for two hours to put out the fire.
The shed, with an approximate value of $35,000, was deemed a total loss. The cause is undetermined but does not appear to be suspicious.
