LIMA — Allen County roadways were fatality-free in February, leaving the number of traffic-related deaths in the county so far this year at one, according to the monthly report from the Lima-Allen County Safe Community Coalition.
During the same two-month period in 2018 there was also one fatal crash, resulting in one fatality.
A two-vehicle crash southeast of Lima on Jan. 3 of this year claimed the life of a Columbus woman and left two others, including an infant, suffering from minor injuries.
Tashonda Ward, 23, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident that occurred at the intersection of state Route 309 and Thayer Road.
Ward was wearing a safety belt at the time of the accident, according to the coalition.
