SHAWNEE TOWNSHIP — One River Collective is the latest business in the Lima region to start seeing clients interested in Ohio’s medical marijuana program.
The alternative medicine shop and chiropractic clinic is now working with Mike Eldirani, who started seeing patients at the 2366 Shawnee Road clinic this month, according to One River Collective Founder Joshua Hayes.
Hayes celebrated the addition to his staff and an expansion at his clinic, which now features a yoga studio, classroom space, meditation room and an infrared sauna. One River Collective also sells whole food supplements, herbs, CBD and hemp products.
The store’s name, One River Collective, is a reference to Hayes’ medical philosophy.
“Together we’re collectively creating the place that we’re living in,” he said. “When we’re all together, then there’s a lot of healing in the community in connection like that. I think that’s really where our healthcare always has been, where our health has always been in community, in connection and the earth, things like that. Then it got away from that and we’re working to bring it back.”
Hayes said he started practicing chiropractic care about 10 years ago after graduating from Logan College in St. Louis. He said he’s since found an interest in “energy medicine” and Eastern-inspired medical practices.
“I think that when we start to combine the mind and the body, understanding that our thoughts and feelings and emotions manifest in our body and physical health, we’re starting to address and correct what’s really driving a lot of our illnesses and diseases in our society,” he said.
Hayes first opened Garden Grove Holistic store in Shawnee Township last summer, expanding into a new storefront this year. He said the expansion allows the shop to offer more classes, including yoga and meditation.
