Kenton receives OEPA low-interest loan

KENTON — Northwest Ohio communities received more than $51 million in low-interest loans from the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency to improve wastewater and drinking water infrastructure as well as make other water quality improvements.

Of Ohio cities locally affected by the loans, Kenton received a $79,500 interest-free loan in the fourth quarter of 2018 to complete asset management plans for its drinking water systems. A portion of the loan, or $10,000, comes with the additional caveat of principal forgiveness, meaning it does not have to be repaid.
