LIMA — The Salvation Army released its year-end report showing more than $520,000 in community assistance for over 4,000 people in 2018.
Through campaigns like the Red Kettle Campaign and Toys For Tots, approximately $212,500 was given for Christmas assistance, mostly comprised of food and toys. Though their services are mostly synonymous with the Christmas season, the group also raised over $308,475 for other programs.
The Salvation Army totaled $73,235 in food assistance, $38,000 in back to school bags and $26,365 in mass feedings. Other programs also included utility and rent assistance, senior visitation and coat giveaways.
