OTTAWA — Melting snow and heavy rain on Wednesday left some areas dealing with flooding issues today.
The Blanchard River in Ottawa is past its action stage of 20 feet, according to the National Weather Service’s Advanced Hydrologic Prediction Service. At 8:30 a.m., it was at 21.59 feet. The water is expected to crest at 22.6 feet at 1 a.m. Friday. That’s just short of the minor flood stage of 23 feet, when lowland flooding occurs in south Ottawa.
The Bluffton Police Department announced Wednesday night that Riley Creek was out of its banks near College Avenue and rising.
