Police seek public’s help in solving armed robbery attempt

LIMA — Lima police are seeking the public’s help in locating a person of interest who was involved in an armed robbery earlier this month.

The incident occurred at approximately 2 p.m. on Jan. 3 when a black male, said to be in his 20s, approached 50-year-old Richard Zeller at 142 N. Woodlawn Ave., Lima. The suspect, who reportedly was brandishing a handgun, demanded Zeller turn over his wallet and cell phone. The two men struggled briefly, police said, before the suspect fled without any of the victim’s property.
