LIMA — There is a required course from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. March 16 at the Ohio State Universty Lima Campus for those in the Master Gardener Volunteer program.
The Allen County and Hardin County OSU Extension Master Gardener Volunteers will host a Master Gardener Volunteer training classes from 6 to 9 p.m. beginning March 5 at the Ohio State University Lima Campus.
Classes will continue from 6 to 9 p.m. each Tuesday and Thursday through April 25. Additionally, a seminar from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. March 16 is a required course as well.
The training course is open to interested volunteers from any county with the volunteer commitment to be completed in the volunteer’s home county program.
Cost of the training program is $150 and includes a training manual and class materials. To become a certified Master Gardener Volunteer, the program requires 50 hours of classroom training and 50 hours of volunteer time. There is also a required background check at the volunteer’s expense.
