LIMA — Two Lima men charged with murder in connection with the Jan. 15 shooting death of 34-year-old Lima resident Branson Tucker will have preliminary hearings Tuesday morning in Lima Municipal Court
Jerome Fuqua and Kenneth Cobb, both Lima residents and both 59 years of age, were taken into custody one day after Tucker was found dead inside a vehicle that had been involved in a 3:30 a.m. traffic accident in the 600 block of Michael Avenue. Tucker was found to be suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso and died later that morning at Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center.
Throughout the course of the investigation, detectives learned the shooting occurred inside a structure at 975 St. Johns Ave., Lima, that is believed to be an after-hours establishment that, according to court documents, is Fuqua’s residence.
Cobb’s address is listed in court records as 1120 S. Reese Ave.
A search warrant was obtained for the St. Johns Avenue site. Lima police detectives and crime scene investigators processed the scene for evidence, according to a spokesman for the Lima Police Department.
Cobb is scheduled to appear in court at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, followed at 11 a.m. by Fuqua.
