Reports of scam call hit Lima area

LIMA — A robocall claiming Social Security cards will be suspended is targeting residents in the Lima area, according to the Better Business Bureau.

There are several versions of the call, which may claim that “your Social Security number will be cancelled due to illegal activity in Texas, or that your Social Security number has had fraudulent activity and has been compromised in Texas,” the BBB said.

The BBB is investigating the origin of the calls and is encouraging anyone who receives this call to contact their office at 419-223-7010.
