LIMA — Allen County Sheriff Matt Treglia has issued a Level 2 roadway advisory for Allen County as of 7:39 p.m., according to a news release. Tregila had issued a Level 1 roadway advisory earlier in the afternoon.
A Level 2 advisory indicates that “all roadways in Allen County are extremely dangerous due to heavy, drifted or blowing snow,” according to the release. “Some roads may become impassible, causing danger to stranded motorists. Only motorists with extreme necessity and specialized equipment should attempt to drive in these unsafe conditions.”
Putnam County Sheriff Brian Siefker issued a Level 1 advisory for his jurisdiction, according to a 5 p.m. post on the department’s Twitter account. This level of advisory indicates that county roadways are snow or ice covered with possible drifting, making driving conditions potentially hazardous. Motorists are advised to use extreme caution when on the road.
