LIMA — Community support for two programs operated by the Allen County Children Services agency helped make the holiday season a little brighter for hundreds of area children.
The agency’s Adopt-A-Family program provided holiday gifts to 217 children in December, while the Cole Collection provided gifts to 189 children. Both programs rely exclusively on donations and the generosity of people in the community.
The Adopt-A-Family program matches families with open cases at the agency with sponsors in the community made up of individuals, families, groups and businesses.
The Cole Collection is a holiday shopping fundraiser held each year in early November to raise money to purchase gifts based on “wish lists” families complete for children placed in relative and foster homes.
