Bluffton assistant professor presents inspiration behind proposed public sculpture

BLUFFTON — Bluffton University Assistant Professor of Art Jim Fultz will present “An Exploration of Loss, Touch and Memory in the Landscape” at 4 p.m. Friday in Stutzman Lecture Hall, Bluffton.

Fultz will discuss his proposal for a public sculpture developed with funding from a 2018 Bluffton University Research Center summer grant. He will explain the idea, inspiration and process behind the proposed project that consists of two sculptures in the form of tree knots. The sculptures are proposed for Bluffton’s campus and will serve as a reflection on mortality.

The event is free and open to the public.
