Lima woman robbed at gunpoint in broad daylight Thursday

LIMA — Lima police are seeking the public’s help in finding the man involved in an armed robbery Thursday afternoon.

According to a statement from Sgt. Jason Garlock of the Lima Police Department, the incident occurred at approximately 2 p.m. when Gloria Deal, 47, of Lima, parked her vehicle at the rear of a residence at 132 N. Woodlawn Ave.

Police say that as Deal exited her vehicle and began to walk toward the residence she was approached by a black male in his early 20s. The man was wearing a gray sweatshirt and brandished a handgun. He ordered Deal to surrender her purse, which she did. The man then fled the scene.
