Armed robbery attempt foiled by clerk at Lima Circle K

LIMA — Lima police are investigating an attempted armed robbery that took place Sunday evening.

According to Sgt. Jason Garlock, the incident occurred at approximately 9 p.m. when an unknown suspect entered the Circle K convenience store at 20154 N. West St. and brandished a knife. The clerk and the suspect struggled briefly over the knife, Garlock said, and the clerk was able to disarm the individual, who left the business without further incident.

The suspect was male, described as heavy set and wearing some type of ski mask and camo-colored jacket during the incident, the LPD spokesman said.
