Perry firefighters extinguish house blaze

PERRY TOWNSHIP — Firefighters from the Perry Township Fire Department rescued a pair of dogs as a fire at 2394 4th St. caused an estimated $33,000 damage to the home and contents.

Everyone in the home got out safely at the time of the fire, around 9 a.m. Thursday. The fire was contained to one end of the home, although smoke spread to the rest of the home.

The home, built in 1966 and valued at $126,600, is owned by Angelique M. Suarez, according to the Allen County Auditor’s website.

The fire remains under investigation. Westminster Fire Department assisted at the scene.
