LIMA — Local people and businesses were honored Thursday by the Lima Young Professionals organization for inspiring and leading others in the community.

The young professionals organization hosted the Illy (Inspire Growth, Lead Others, Love Lima and Young Professionals) Awards at Shawnee Country Club to celebrate and honor those outstanding leaders.

Ann Welly, 2019 Lima Young Professionals president, said the program is an opportunity to recognize young people making a difference.

“I think it’s important to recognize those who give their time, talent and treasure to the community,” Welly said.

Jeremy Martinez from the Veterans Memorial Civic Center won the Emerging YP Illy Award because he exhibits a strong commitment for growth and is dedicated to the Lima YP. He was nominated by Cody Niese and Lauren Frazer.

Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center won the Champion Illy Award. They have supported the mission of the Lima YP of attracting and retaining young talent in the community. Mercy Health has provided generous commitment of time, support and inspiration to the Lima Young Professionals. The center was nominated by Corey Frazer State Farm & Rea Associates.

The YP Legacy Illy Award went to Adah Ellerbrock, of Woof Boom Radio, for her commitment, leadership and influence on the Lima YP. Ellerbrock was nominated by Ty Shelby and Jason Stolly.

The YP Service Illy Award went to Ty Shelby of OmniSource. Shelby has taken place in Lima YP leadership positions while giving his time and resources to service clubs and other community-based organizations. Shelby was nominated by Ashley Lester-Heaphy and Eddie Saunders.

The Love Lima Illy Award went to the Lima Locos for setting a standard of pride in Lima. The Lima Locos have provided support and inspiration to the community. Lima Locos was nominated by Lima Memorial and Rotary Club President Paul Swartz.

The Lifetime Achievement Illy Award went to the Stolly Family at Stolly Insurance. The Stollys have attained and personified the highest level of professional excellence in their business. The Stolly Family has devoted long-term commitment through the arts, business, volunteerism and generous donations to help Lima maintain the outstanding community that we call home.
