LIMA —Food left cooking on a stove is the cause of a fire which heavily damaged a Lima home early Sunday morning.
According to Battalion Chief Greg Kirkendall, Lima firefighters were called to 777 S. Greenlawn Avenue at 4:14 a.m. When they arrived they found fire on the first floor of the home.
The owner had gone next door for some reason and the food he left on the stove caught fire.
Damage is listed $45,000 to the structure and contents.
No one was hurt.
